Scarsdale Woman’s Club
Application Deadline: Tuesday, November 19th, 2019
The Play-In is a recital opportunity for our members’ students. It is also open to non-members with a registration fee. There are two play-ins held each year, in the Fall and the Spring.
DATE AND LOCATION
The next play-in will be held on:
Sunday, November 17th, 2019 at Scarsdale Woman’s Club
Time of the recitals:
12 pm, 1:15 pm, 2:30 pm, and 3:45 pm.
Though our members are primarily piano teachers, the recitals are open to all soloists or ensembles. There are no repertoire requirements other than the music must be original- no arrangements or simplifications are permitted. Pianists must perform from memory.
Fees and Deadlines
You must be a current district member in order to submit the application for your students. The fee for the November 17th, 2019 recital is $15 per student and ensemble if the application is received by November 5th, 2019 or $20 if received by November 8th, 2019. No applications will be accepted after November 19th, 2019. Non-members must pay a separate registration fee of $60 for this event.
ACCOMPANYING SERVICE FOR INSTRUMENTALISTS
If your student is a non-pianist and requires an accompanist, you may provide one or you may register for one of ours. There is no additional fee for bringing your own accompanist. The additional fee for hiring a NYSMTA District Accompanist is $10. The fee includes one 15 minute rehearsal with the accompanist some time before the recital and the performance. If the student requires additional rehearsal time, the accompanist can be hired at the rate and discretion of the accompanist. The additional $10 should be included with the entry fee.
If you sign up to hire an accompanist, it is important to contact the Play-in coordinator Jaejin Lee (firstname.lastname@example.org) so that your student and the accompanist can coordinate for a rehearsal.
IMPORTANT: Payments can only be made with paypal and must come directly from the teacher. Please consolidate multiple students’ payment into one if possible. Payments from parents will not be accepted.
